A Smarter Seal for Tougher Jobs— Meet the WG3

Hello,
I hope this finds you well. I am writing to introduce you to Apex Sealing’s newest sealing product, the WG3 Triple Lip Seal Cartridge.
This unique seal is quite different from standard “face-to-face” mechanical seals. Instead of the traditional rotating vs. stationary seal face arrangement, we have incorporated a series of three unique dynamic lip seals in series. These dynamic lips effectively seal upon a robust silicon carbide sleeve. This unique sealing element is built into a single or double cartridge much like a traditional mechanical seal cartridge.
We have built this design to address some problematic applications that have always been a challenge for traditional mechanical seals. Some of these troublesome applications include viscous materials with poor natural lubricity; applications requiring gear, lobe and progressive cavity pumps; tanker/trailer off-loading; situations where pumps are often run dry and challenging food processing applications. These are just a few of the applications where the WG3 is a unique solution to an old problem for traditional mechanical seals.
The design parameters that address these common troubling applications include a unique lip seal compound called HiFlon™ which creates a very successful seal along the silicon carbide sleeve. The flexible lips allow high runout capability that surpass common mechanical seals. We have bounded the lips from the atmosphere with a grease cavity that lubricates the sealing area and adds protection as the seals naturally wear over time. The self-aligning cartridge design makes installation easy and straightforward repair kits make field service quick and reliable.
